Ecstatic/Conscious Dance Events in Boston, April 2025
If you couldn't tell from the flowers sprouting up, and bird song sprinkling down, it's April. Which means more than just Earth Day...it's an entire Earth Month! The Earth is our mother, father, and home all rolled into one. A month seems too short too celebrate it!
Dance goes hand in hand with loving and protecting the Earth. Since humans first stood on the Earth, we've been dancing on it. It's the perfect sustainable source of bliss...no need to burn fossil fuels, or pop more plastic into landfills. Wherever you are, just find your local community, feel your feet on the ground, and dance!
If you love dancing and the Earth, there’s one more special opportunity to tie those two loves together. Extinction Rebellion Boston is the local chapter of a global movement using colorful, creative disruptions to demand action on the climate crisis. And this April, we’re starting a Dance Affinity Group! Would you like to help plan protest dances, flash mobs, free community ecstatic dance events, or any idea of your own? If so, our first meeting will be on April 12th, at XR Boston's monthly General Meeting, held at the Community Church of Boston near Copley. The Dance AG meeting will be held in the last hour, 4:00 - 5:00 PM. Feel free to show up for just that, or the whole event! You can find all details and RSVP for updates here. If you’re interested but can’t make that meeting, you can reach out to me at tim.c.peters@gmail.com!
…anyways, onto the ecstatic/conscious dance events for April!

Soul Dance was created by Allison Talis, a somatic therapist, yoga teacher, and trauma specialist with over 25 years of experience in the healing arts. The dance begins gently, followed by a deeper, more visceral exploration, and ends with relaxation. Understanding that the body holds our inherited epigenetic patterns and our present, we work with—and through—the body to release, untangle, and create new pathways towards integration. Soul Dance is an intuitive, non-verbal practice set to music, where you can expect to sweat, although you are always in control of your rhythm and pace.
